What are appointment reminders?

Appointment reminders are a valuable tool to help reduce no-shows and protect your revenue. Eyefinity integrated Electronic Patient Notifications can be set up in ways that work best for your patient base. 
Benefits of Integration
Our integrated system will send reminders out to your patients directly from your appointment book as voice messages to home phone lines or as text messages to mobile phones. When a patient confirms their appointment via text message the appointment will automatically update in Eyefinity Practice Management to a "Confirmed" status, requiring no time or action from your staff. 
Frustration Proof
We don't want to flood patients with repeated text messages. For that reason if a patient confirms their appointment either by calling your office or by replying to a text message they will not get any further reminders until the day of the appointment. 

​"How often will reminders go out?"

By default your patients will get reminders:
  • 5 days before their appointment
  • 2 days before their appointment
  • The same day as their appointment. 
Why at those times?
We've found these reminder times feature the best response rate overall. They allow patients the time to reschedule if needed but also ensure appointments are not forgotten. 
Customize your frequency
You know your patient base best, and we can set up your reminders to go out at whatever frequency works best for you. If your office pre-appointments you can even set reminders up to 30 days in advance!

What your patients will see

Default Message Format
  • Quickly communicates to the patient a reminder of the practice's name as well as the date and time of their appointment. 
  • This is a good fit for most practices.
Message Option #2
  • A more detailed message including the default wording and the name of the treating doctor. 
  • This format is usually best for practices with a large number of doctors, or different doctors for different appointment types. 
Message Option #3
  • A longer message featuring the practice's street address. 
  • Longer texts will sometimes be broken in to multiple messages by some services, which can hinder patient response. 
  • This style is usually most helpful for offices that have recently moved
